Zaeem Flowers

Project Description:

More than eighty years ago, at a time when famine and the Second World War cast their shadow over the country, the late Seyed Hassan Zaeem opened a path with patience and perseverance—a path that, through three generations, has proudly continued in the cultivation and flourishing of ornamental plants. The flower shop building, located on the northeast corner of Pastor Square, has been a silent witness to many historical moments. Through stories, photographs, and old films shared by Mr. Zaeem about his father’s presence, it became evident how deeply the family has influenced the floral industry of the country. Becoming acquainted with the family that founded the nation’s florist guild has been an honor for our team. In the early 1990s, the shop’s main entrance and hall were renovated for the first time, designed by a Dutch architect. The second renovation was later entrusted to our office. The client’s sensitivity toward preserving and revitalizing his heritage property brought a particular delight to the design process. His request was to restore and redesign the interior, including the selection of office furniture, and to repurpose an abandoned mezzanine above the flower preparation area into a functional management and administrative space. This transformation was to be executed within a limited timeframe, while maintaining a visual connection with the staff’s workspace below.
